Tennis Match on 13 March 2005

People asked me to report on the tennis matches yesterday, how shall I
write? My brain was totally blank when I was in the match, and I was too
nervous (or concentrate?) in helping the Umpire for line watching that
hadn't noticed how the other players performed (in details) in their
matches!

OK, I can talk on my own matches, and the mysterious novel starts below.

The first match was with Duncan. I saw him playing in previous matches with
others before, and I knew that he is a skilful and tough guy. I knew I had
no chance to win him, but still would like to know how far our difference
would be.

I did the first serve in the first game. Luckily, I served not bad though
not very good, but it passed the net and dropped in the serve box anyway.
Good start. Duncan hit back and I return and on and on (actually no idea of
details, he he he). Goddess of Luck was on my side, as he didn't notice my
weakness (a $5000 secret), and Duncan was confused with my style of playing
too that he couldn't outplay me with his better skill, something like "a rat
wants to pull a tortoise", his power was exercised but on nowhere......

Four games finished with several deuces, and 2-2.

The fifth game started with big big problems. A consecutive THREE double
faults, ends with 40-null. What happened to my Goddess? Duncan, did your
Evil Devil seduced away my Goddess? I could see your face was so cool......

bing bai ru san dao 兵敗如山倒, the fifth game ends quick, so quick that it
finished after I accidentally blink my eyes on the flying ball....... 3-2.

The six game, my god, not yet finished? I was exhausted since I could only
play 15 minutes in every game / match! haleluya....Duncan you were going to
kill me but I wouldn't allow you to beat me easily. If I should die, I
should die with glory (of a professor of something............, no no no,
not hero, definitely wrong word).

No matter how hard I fight back, or how sweet that I smiled to Duncan, he
wouldn't let me go. All of a sudden, the six game ended and 4-2.

End of match.

Alright, you are better and you win the game. What? don't bother me OK? I
was in bad mood.....555555 (hey, 5 is a funny number, why? the Chinese
pronounce 5 as wu which is a crying sound so means sad, but the Thais
pronounce 5 as ha which means happy!)

Anyway, resting time...wait a minute, what do you mean I can't rest? I have
to play with Elsa again? It is not fair! OBJECTION! Ivan, I paid you $500
on Thursday, didn't we have some arrangement? OK, tell me how much Elsa
pays you spooky head (it is how my little son called me)

Elsa's match details.....TOC (please see Table of Content.......Oops, I mean

RE: ?? : ??: Tennis Match on 13 March 2005

Hi dear,

Yes, yes, I'm here. Quite busy this morning. Have to get my lunch now
before going to Wan Chai for a meeting. Just went to see a doctor due to my
seriously hurt wrist after yesterday's match...wearing a wrist support even
at work.

Stanley - too early to say that I'm your greatest competitor, not sure I can
win Dave this week....don't know...my wrist but will try my very best...if I
lose, I can save $500! Your description of your match with Duncan is really
interesting, I had a good laugh on reading it.

I don't mind singles, but I'm concerned about my partner, Peter, who may be
disappointed at my performace. I can only try my best.

Have to rush now....

Good day!
Vicky

回覆 : 回覆: Tennis Match on 13 March 2005

Hi Ivan,

I am making jokes only, not serious.

But the tight schedule in day 2 worries me.....yes greatest competitor. So
what will be Vicky's match after playing with me? I want to see whether I
can get some money from Vicky, hello, hello, Vicky, are you there this
morning? If you want to win me more easily I want $500! Think about it as
this can save you a lot of chocolates.

I think I do not have a chance to go to the final so god cares about how's
the schedule!

I know Vicky know my weakness, but how do I play my game will more or less
decides how much power she has to use to win me, that why worths $500!

No, I didn't read the schedule at all.....sorry, it seems not so respectful
to your hard work, but you can blame me as I always get friends who knows
things well and tell me how to proceed!

回覆:Tennis Match on 13 March 2005

Dear Stanley,

You should pay me before the pairing. Please remember I set the game arrangement, and match sequence in advance. We have 3 players/teams for both single and double, so for the preliminary, no. 1 of each group should be more favourable, as no. 2 and no. 3 should be have lesser resting time. This is sky-idea for when to play. I will sent out the first day result and match sequence of the second day with names indicated.

Thus, as Hara and you are B1 of double, you should play two double games with around half-hour resting time in between, but you will face your greatest competitor, Vicky, after the double. I suggest you to bring some food, such as chocolate, to re-charge your energy, and better bring one more T-shirt to change after gone wet completely.

Please note that 3 games within 3 hours in second day, and 4 or 5 games within 4 hours in the final. You should better have more physical training to improve your energy level.
